NYSDOT – Region 9: Roadwork on NY 17 [Tioga] both directions between Exit 65 – NY 434; Ramp (Owego) and Town of Owego; Town of Vestal Line (Owego) 1 alternate lanes of 2 lanes blocked for preparations for upcoming construction to occur from 03/20 through 11/01 during the hours of 7:00AM and 5:00PM. New striping will be placed on NY 17 EB allowing traffic to only use the right lane. Starting 3/22 a temporary concrete barrier will be placed in EB following the new striping patterns. On 4/01 head to head traffic will be in place with a single lane for WB and EB all on the EB side of the highway and the contractor will CLOSE Exit 66 WB off ramp to traffic. A signed detour will be in place taking WB traffic to Exit 65 and getting them onto NY 17 EB and back to Exit 66. The ramp to get on NY 17 WB from Exit 66 will remain open.
